Hi … my name is Scooter and here are some things you need to know about me:

Weight/size: 21 lbs (but currently on a weight loss program)

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: super friendly, happy, loving

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES (definitely preferred so he can get more exercise to help get some weight off)

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  No but he does listen fairly well (after all …. He is a doxie)

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Would love to chase any cat that would run from him!

Good with children: Hasn’t been around children in foster care but he seems like he would be fine with older, calmer, respectful children

Check out Scooter's gorgeous dapple coat! Not only is he handsome, but this little guy will keep you smiling.  He is just the most happy-go-lucky guy ever.  He loves attention and so far he hasn’t met a stranger.  He’s pretty sure everybody he sees is going to love him … and so far he has been correct!  If you love doxies, Scooter could just be the little man for you!  He gets along fine with other dogs …tries to be a bit pushy with ones smaller than him … but he really prefers the company of people.  We have no history on him but it’s easy to see that he has been spoiled by someone!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Scooter picks you too.
