HANDSOME BUDDY IS A LONG-TIME FOSTER WITH AAMR AND HE IS AVAILABLE FOR SPONSORSHIP as well as for adoption.  ALL DONATIONS TO HIS CARE ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED AS WE WILL NOT ABANDON SWEET SENIORS WHEN THEY NEED LOVE AND CARE THE MOST.  THANK YOU FOR SHOWING YOUR LOVE TO THEM!

Hi … my name is Buddy and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to
www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

“Thorns may hurt you. Men desert you. Sunlight turns to fog. But you’re never friendless ever if you have a dog.” Douglas Mallock

I AM A SUPER SENIOR!  The numbers on the calendar may say I am older, but I am still a puppy at heart and my heart has a lot of love to give!  Can you give a distinguished gentleman a chance??

Buddy was rescued from a public pound where he stayed for five months after being brought in as a stray. He was extremely emaciated and full of parasites at the time. The people working at the shelter were all in love with his personality and tried everything to get him a home.

After several years in various foster homes, Buddy is still a very loving, big goofy dog. He loves people and he does NOT like to be left alone.  Until he is comfortable in a new home and bonded with his people, if left outside alone in a fenced area, he may still go over a 4’ fence OR he may dig under taller fences and he will go looking for company.  He is still strong and headstrong!  He will still get excited over a treat and he still likes to give kisses.  He’s very social with everyone – including other dogs (after proper introduction). His size and energy might be a bit overwhelming for younger children that he might knock over.  Buddy will make a great companion for a loving dog owner who will provide a happy home for him.  He can be a bit dog-selective (more so as he has gotten older), but proper introductions are key!

Buddy does, however, have an issue with cats and should not be allowed access to them.  So far he has not bothered small dogs, but as with any case, large dogs should not be left unsupervised with smaller pets.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your reference checks are completed and your application is tentatively approved, we will schedule a home visit and a meet-and-greet to see if Buddy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption contract to be signed and a requested adoption donation.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
