About Izzy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black

A great Thanksgiving for our Izzy!  She has now found her new forever home! And we think she might just be a bit spoiled!  Happy Life sweet Izzy!

Here are some very important things you need to know about Izzy

Izzy is a sweet girl who has grown up without a family of her very own.  She has had foster families who loved her, but it's not exactly the same.  Izzy has always been full of life and love, and she is usually happy to meet new people.  As she has grown up, however, she has become 'dog selective' and she is not always happy (or polite) when meeting new dogs. And she really does not enjoy small, high-energy, loud pups.

Izzy is a smart girl, and if she loves you, she really tries hard to listen well and make you happy!  She has so much love to give and will do her best to make you smile!  Could you be her forever family???

Approximate age/birthdate: ~ October 2013

Weight/size: 50 - 55 lbs

Housebroken:  YES … as long as you do your part taking her outside

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: a typical rowdy, playful lab mix who just wants to be played with and loved

Energy level:  Medium with bursts of high … although she does settle down nicely once she’s had a good play

Fenced yard required?:   YES … she needs a safe place to run and play off-leash.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  Generally, yes, but she has become more 'dog selective' as she has matured.  She is not fond of small, high-energy dogs and she should be slowly and properly introduced to any new friends.  As with all dogs, proper introductions are the key.

Social with cats:  NO CATS ... She would chase them and possibly do them harm.

Good with children: We think she would be good with children 8 and over … old enough and large enough not to be intimidated by her size and energy.  We have seen her calm appropriately to meet and greet younger children which has been very endearing. As with any dog, she should not be left unsupervised with young children.

Adoption donation:  $175

If you think Izzy might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Izzy picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
