January 21, 2017 was Happy Dance Day for Gideon!  He got his new forever family.  Congratulations to everyone!

Crate trained:  YES (will stay in a crate but it really isn’t his favorite place to be)

Personality: busy, curious, always looking for something to do … he is a working dog breed

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:   YES

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’ (for a treat)

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … seems to like to ride       

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES (but he won’t be pushed around by other dogs)

Social with cats: Will chase cats  

Good with children: Yes (per previous owner)

Gideon is a very handsome spaniel mix boy.  Best guess is possibly cocker spaniel and Sussex spaniel.  He is smart and attentive and is always looking for something to do.  He is a working dog by breed and is really happy when he and a person are doing something together.  He loves attention! 

Gideon is good with his most of his other foster siblings, but he does not take any nonsense off them.  He is not generally aggressive, but there are some male dogs that he does not care for. If other pups get barky/growly with him, he will stand his ground and show his teeth.

Gideon has had a family most of his life but due to some changes, the time they had to devote to him became a lot less.  Because they love him, they felt it would be best to let him find an active, loving family that could spend lots of quality time with him.  Could that be you?

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Gideon picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
