On July 2, 2017 Sabastian another AAMR alumni, Jake, in his new forever home.  Two boys loving life and being very spoiled!  Congratulations sweet boy!

Hi … my name is Sabastian and here are some things you need to know about me:

Approximate age/birthdate:  born July 24, 2016

Weight/size: 14 lbs

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: sweet, happy, playful, friendly

Energy level:  medium with bursts of high

Fenced yard required?:   DEFINITELY – he needs a place to play safely off-leash and get some exercise and he is very much the free spirit and wanderer

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES … getting better every day

Obedience training:  No … but he is very smart and quick to learn

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES but he is not a fan of larger dogs (over 45 lbs).  He will do best with other dogs closer to his size ... 15-20 pounds (or smaller).
 
Social with cats: Will bark at the cats

Good with children:  Has not been around children in foster care but we think he would be fine with children over 10 who are respectful of him.

Adoption donation:  $175

Sabastian was surrendered to an area animal control facility by a family who loved him but could no longer care for him.  He is a lucky boy because he has always been loved and cared for.  He is playful and happy and loves people.  He is a very smart little guy and learns new routines and requests quickly.  He will ‘talk’ to you when he thinks you are ignoring him and he likes to cuddle. He will do best in a home with another small, young, and playful (not over-the-top energetic) dog ... or in a home where someone is home with him most of the time.  He has never spent time alone and does not seem to enjoy being alone.  He has nice house manners and does settle down nicely and he sleeps all night!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Sabastian picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
