ADOPTED! and ready to be spoiled rotten! Griffith now has a new Mom of his very own!
Hi … my name is Griffith (all my friends just call me Griff) and here are some things you need to know about me:
Approximate age/birthdate: ~2010
Weight/size: 7 lbs
Housebroken: YES (recently neutered so may still try to ‘mark’)
Crate trained: YES
Personality: happy, friendly, sweet
Energy level: low to medium
Fenced yard required?: YES – Griff is blind due to severe cataracts so he must have a safe outside space
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk: YES
Obedience training: NO
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES … he is cautious when meeting new dogs because he can’t see their body language
Social with cats: Has not been around cats, but they might scare him
Good with children: Griff is very sweet, but his lack of vision could make life around active younger children very stressful for him. We think he would be OK with children over 10 years old who are calm and respectful.
Adoption donation: $175
There are just not enough good things to say about sweet Griff. Because he was brought in to an area animal control facility as a stray, we have no background information on his life. Because he is so well-adjusted to his lack of vision, we think he was probably either born visually impaired or lost his vision at a very young age. His senses of hearing and smell seem to be very keen to compensate. The staff at the animal control facility said he was ‘cool as a cucumber’ while there even with all the noise and smells. If you speak to him, he immediately cocks his head to try to figure out where you are, and the nose goes up in the air to help locate your scent. He is such an amazing little guy! And he is really, really cute and cuddly too!
If you think Griff might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Griff picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
