About Trooper

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: White with Black

March 9, 2018 was a super-happy day for Trooper ... he found his new forever home!  Happy life little man!

Hi … my name is Trooper and here are some things you need to know about me:

Approximate age/birthdate:  born ~June 2017

Weight/size: ~15 pounds

Housebroken:  NO … working on it, but he does seem to understand potty pads (although his ‘aim’ is not always good)

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  happy, busy, very loving, playful, always looking for something to get into … typical puppy!

Energy level:  high with stretches of medium when he’s trying to figure out what to do next

Fenced yard required?:   YES … he has puppy energy and needs some space to work it off and he needs a safe space because he is curious about everything and will wander

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats:  Wants to chase the cats because they will run … and they look like something fun to play with.

Good with children:  We think he would be fine with children 8 and over.  His energy and exuberance could be a bit too much for younger, smaller children.

Adoption donation:  $225

Oh what a cute boy Trooper is!  We think he may be a shih-tzu/maltese mix … but we’re not sure.  What we do know is that he is cute as anything and oh-so-sweet!  His family was very sad to give him up, but their health issues made it hard for them to handle an energetic puppy … and they wanted to do what was best for him.

Trooper is a very smart little pup.  He will do great in (and will definitely benefit from) a good obedience class.  He has the sweet, outgoing personality that will naturally make him a good possibility as a therapy dog once he matures and gets the energy under control.  He is a little treasure and will be a wonderful addition to some lucky family … one that has patience and time to spend with him and help develop all his potential.

If you think Trooper might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Trooper picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email ToAAMR@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
