Hi … my name is Jasper and here are some things you need to know about me:

Can you believe I was picked up by people in uniforms and taken to ‘doggy jail’?  And no one I knew came looking for me!  I had to sit there and wait for days for people who never came!  My feelings were hurt.  BUT … then some people came to meet me and took me to a ‘foster family’ (whatever that is) and I have been living in a house with people who really seem to like me and they take good care of me.  I get good meals and treats every day (and I LOVE to eat), I have a soft bed to sleep in, I get snuggles, I get to play with other dogs … and all this is great.  But I really want a family of my very own who will love me and will let me love them back.  Oh … did I mention that I am a great conversationalist?  I love to talk.  Could you be my new best friend?

Approximate age/birthdate:  ~2013

Weight/size: 8 lbs

Housebroken:  YES … as long as you do your part and take him out often

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  happy, chatty, loving

Energy level:  medium

Fenced yard required?:  Definitely preferred so he has a safe place to explore and play off-leash.  He is very fast and does not always come when called so he could definitely be a flight risk

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  NO … but with patience and treats, he could learn!

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK … and if he is in a crate, he will talk through the entire trip    

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: No cat tested but we’re pretty sure he would chase a cat if it ran from him

Good with children:  Has not been around children in foster care but we think he would do OK with older, respectful children.  No sure he would tolerate the activity of younger children.

Adoption donation:  $175

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Jasper picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
