About Titan

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black with Brown, Red, Golden, Orange or Chestnut

Hi … my name is Titan and here are some things you need to know about me!  After you read through my bio, if you think I might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete your adoption application online.

Titan is a super sweet, super busy Yorkie boy.  He has always had a loving family but needed to be rehomed due to a youngster who is severely allergic to him.  He has really enjoyed having a huge fenced yard to run and play in at his foster home.  Titan has some anxiety issues … which probably contributes to his staying in perpetual motion.  His previous family had tried several anxiety-reducing medications, to no avail, and he may possibly need to be put on some stronger medications in the future.  When he came to AAMR he had not been neutered, and we are hoping that removing those hormones may help him settle.  It can take from six to nine months before all the testosterone works out of his system.  He really wants to be a good, good boy.

A perfect home for him will be one with a family experienced in dealing with sweet, special needs pups who just require a bit more patience and attention than most.

Approximate age/birthdate:  Dec 16, 2017

Weight/size:  10 lbs

Housebroken:  YES  (recently neutered so may still try to mark territory).

Crate trained:  YES although he does still have some accidents in his crate and we believe it is mostly due to his anxiety.

Personality: sweet, loving, playful, busy

Energy level:  High (sometimes super high)

Fenced yard required?:   YES … this little man needs to have the safety of a fenced area where he can run and play and work off some of his excess energy.  Physical fence … NO EXCEPTIONS.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Learning.  He is so energetic that it is really hard for him to slow down enough to walk politely on leash.  He wants to run everywhere he goes.

Obedience training:  No, but he does listen pretty well. He would definitely benefit from the structure of an obedience class accompanied by his new person

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES but sometimes his energy is too much for older or more calm pups

Social with cats:  Titan is curious about cats and he would definitely be happy to chase them, but we are not sure what he would do if he caught one.  We would advise NO CATS

Good with children:  He grew up with kids, but would probably be a little much for toddlers or most children under 5.

Adoption donation:  $225

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Titan picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
