Foster mom says I am ‘cuteness overload’ …. Whatever that is.  I’m just plain Nugget!  Found wandering with his sister in the woods, no one ever came looking for either of them.  His sister has already been adopted, and Nugget is waiting impatiently for his perfect family to find him.

He’s a little fluff ball but he’s pretty tough.  He had an umbilical hernia the size of a tennis ball and had to have surgery to correct it at the same time he was neutered.  He was a little trooper with his belly full of staples.

Approximate age/birthdate:  October 25, 2018

Weight/size: ~9 lbs

Housebroken:  Working on it … about 95% when he is sure of the routine (and not distracted by playing)

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: sweet, loving, happy, playful, snuggly

Energy level: medium with bursts of high

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred.  He should never be off leash outside when not in a secure fenced area.

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  Still gets a little excited and pulls, but getting better each time

Obedience training:  No … he would benefit from an obedience class

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES … dogs close to his size.  He is not a fan of larger dogs

Social with cats: Has not been around cats but would probably try to chase them to get them to play.  Big mistake!

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.

Adoption donation: $250

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Nugget picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
