Kris is absolutely precious, and he is joyful.  He is also far too smart and adventurous for his own good.  His foster mom can still laugh because he hasn’t managed to escape yet … but he has proven that he does not want to be left alone outside (and he can’t be trusted to stay where you put him!)  He has climbed out of a 6’ chain link kennel, climbed a wire fence to get to a different play yard, and squeezed through a tiny space at the bottom of a gate to get into another playgroup of pups!  Kris is all about exploring and not missing out on any opportunity to have some fun.  He has no sense of danger.  He is ALL boy and he doesn’t have a care in the world.  He’s really proud of his accomplishments.   AND … he moves at the speed of light!  Kris is so sweet and he deserves a special family who will work with him, teach him real boundaries and love him forever.

Approximate age/birthdate:  ~February 2019

Weight/size:  ~10 lbs

Housebroken:  YES … he does well as long as you do your part and take him out often

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  bouncy, happy, loving, curious, super-energeetic

Energy level:  high (remember … he’s still a youngster)

Fenced yard required?:   YES, a physical fence is required.  And remember … he climbs fences so can never be left unattended even in a fenced yard. Kris has a lot of energy and he is FAST!  He needs a safe place to run and play!

Does he/she jump fences?  YES … he can CLIMB wire and chain link fences and then he jumps over.

Leash walk with manners:  Working on it – lots of energy and gets excited and pulls

Obedience training:  NO. Kris would definitely benefit from going to an obedience class with his new person.  Learning new obedience commands and practicing them every day with his person would be a job that he would enjoy.

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES

Social with cats: Would definitely chase them

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Kris picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
