Happy Life sweet Oscar! Your new Mom welcomed you into her life and we know you are much-loved already. Be a good boy!
Hi … my name is Oscar! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.
If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.
Oh sweet Oscar. This precious boy will just grab your heart. He is such a good boy, and while he has always had people who loved him, he has been through some times that have left him on his guard until he is sure you are going to be kind to him. His lack of immediate happiness when he meets new people is almost heartbreaking, but it is something consistent kindness and love may be able to change. Could you be the person who will love Oscar forever?
Approximate age/birthdate: Jan 24 2014
Weight/size: 15 lbs
Housebroken: YES … as long as you do your part and take him out often
Crate trained: YES … not a fan of being crated but will do it if necessary
Personality: a little reserved (especially when first meeting new people), laid back and prefers calm and quiet
Energy level: medium to low … this is a boy who really prefers the low-key life
Fenced yard required?: Definitely preferred. He must NEVER be outside a secure, fenced area off-leash.
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk with manners: YES
Obedience training: No, but once he is bonded with a person, he is polite and listens well
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES … he does not really ‘play’ with other dogs but he will not tolerate being ‘bullied’ by other dogs. He will defend himself. He will probably be fine with another non-alpha, happy pup.
Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster care, but would probably be OK with them.
Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. He would not do well with a lot of noise and activity with younger children.
Adoption donation: $175
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Oscar picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
