Ash is celebrating the 2021 Christmas holidays with her new family ... and her new job as the official family cuddler!
Hi … my name is Ash! Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.
If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.
If you’re looking for an adorable, mischievous, snuggly, playful, nosey lovebug, Ash just might be your girl! With her mix of Pomeranian and Chihuahua genes, she is a petite little cutie with loads of personality. This precious girl has had two litters of puppies in her young life, so now is her time to shine and be the princess in someone’s home. She was an amazing mom with her second litter (which she had at AAMR), but no more babies for this sweet girl.
Some things Ash would love at her new home: a physically fenced yard, maybe another small dog who likes to play, maybe a sweet, gentle young person (age 10 or over) who would love to love her, at least one person who would be home with her a lot! She is also extremely allergic to flea bites, so year-round flea/tick preventio is a must for her. She is so easy to fall in love with!
Approximate age/birthdate: ~January 31, 2020
Weight/size: 10 lbs
Housebroken: YES (as long as you do your part and take her out often). She will also use a cloth pad.
Crate trained: YES – of course she prefers being free to roam the house, but she will comply and stay in the crate
Personality: a little shy at first, but once she trusts you, she is absolutely joyful
Energy level: medium – energetic and playful but not out-of-control
Fenced yard required?: Definitely preferred for her safety and so she have freedom to play! She will leash walk, but is not used to going potty on leash. She can never be outside a fenced area off-leash as she will not always come when called. Even inside a fenced yard, she should never be left alone. Birds of prey can easily grab these tiny toy dogs and take them away. Be cautious.
Does he/she jump fences? NO (although she can jump higher than you would think to get on a high bed)
Leash walk with manners: Learning. When leash walking, always use a harness instead of just a collar in order to avoid trachea injuries.
Obedience training: NO but she would really enjoy (and benefit from) her new person taking her to an obedience class.
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES. She is a bit intimidated by larger dogs, but seems to enjoy playing with smaller dogs.
Social with cats: Has not been around cats in foster home but we’re sure she would chase them trying to play with them. Not sure if she would try to hurt them or not, but cats might be happier without her around.
Good with children: Respectful, calm children ages 10 and up will be a better fit for her. Toy breed dogs are NOT toys, and children must be old enough to understand and respect that.
Adoption donation: $250
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Ash picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
