Hi … my name is Oliver! Please take a minute to read my entire bio to find out everything you need to know about me.
If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online.
If you are a dachshund lover, check out this super sweet boy! Oliver (aka weiner boy) is your typical funny, loving, happy-go-lucky, energetic, vocal young doxie. He is one of the lucky ones who has known nothing but love during his young life, and is only in rescue due to his original owner’s health issues. Oliver gets along with other dogs, preferring smaller dogs to larger ones. We know he lived with another doxie all his life. He has not been around cats or other animals, so we’re not sure how he would react. He loves to run around inside the fenced yard … those little legs can move pretty fast! His favorite activity is getting human attention and affection! If you think Oliver could be the perfect boy for you, please get your application in right away because he is ready to find his new family!
Date of birth: June 22, 2022
Weight/size: 14 lbs
Housebroken: YES – as long as you do your part and take him out often
Crate trained: YES – although he is happiest when running around so he can find his people
Personality: typical sweet doxie … happy, vocal, energetic, nosey, always a clown
Energy level: medium … he is very active, but not ‘crazy active’
Fenced yard required?: Definitely preferred so he can get plenty of outside exercise
Does he/she jump fences? NO
Leash walk with manners: Still working on it and getting better … he loves being ‘free’ and will not always come when called
Obedience training: No but he is very smart and would probably really enjoy taking a class or two
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES and he also had a dental when he was neutered.
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES – prefers small dogs to larger ones
Social with cats: unknown but he would probably enjoy chasing them
Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. His energy may be too much for younger children and their activity and noise might be too much for him. He has been around adults his whole life.
Adoption donation: $300
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Oliver picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
