Some of the best words to describe Martha are fun, intelligent, full of energy, loving, happy, curious … and don’t forget, cute! True to her breed, she is definitely people-oriented and she is usually ready for snuggles.  She enjoys interaction with other small dogs, and she did grow up in a multi-dog home. Typical small dog, she will alert you to anything moving around in her space, but she is generally sweet about it.

Approximate age/birthdate:  Aug 23, 2021

Weight/size:  15 lbs

Housebroken:  YES (as long as you do your part and take her out regularly)

Crate trained:  YES

Personality:  happy, playful, energetic, loves people

Energy level:  medium (with bursts of high)

Fenced yard required?:   Definitely preferred for her safety.  She enjoys going outside and must be on a harness and leash at all times if not inside a securely fenced area … and playing and exploring is more fun in a fenced yard!

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk with manners:  YES

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK even though she may get a little upset tummy sometimes  

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES. She was raised in a home with several dogs similar to her in size.

Social with cats:  Has not been around cats in foster care, but she would most likely be curious about them.

Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.

Adoption donation: $250

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Martha picks you too.
