Gretchen is a lovely little mini schnauzer who needs to be rehomed due to her owner's health issues.

Housebroken:  yes

Crate trained:  yes

Energy level:  low to medium

Fenced yard required:  YES - definitely preferred as she likes to spend time outside lying in the sun

Leash walk:  yes

Obedience training:  knows sit and come, listens well

Riding in vehicles:  rides well

Spayed/neutered:  YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:  YES

Microchipped:  YES

Social with other dogs:  YES but does not tolerate high energy, in-your-face dogs well

Social with cats:  will bark at them

Good with children:  yes, with older, respectful children.  Gretchen will not tolerate toddlers or any children who want to poke and pull on her face, ears and tail.

Other important information:  Gretchen is a very settled little 'princess.'  She will do very well with someone with lots of time to spend holding her on their lap!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  Applications that include email addresses for the references are able to be processed more quickly. We try to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Gretchen picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is a $150 adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
