My name is Titus and I'm a wild and crazy guy. Are you ready to party?
Here are some very important things you need to know about this handsome little miniature pinscher boy
Approximate age/birthdate: DOB 9/20/08
Weight/size: 18 lbs
Housebroken: YES but will try to ‘mark’ in new territory – responds to correction
Crate trained: YES
Personality: Titus it a typical min pin – athletic, energetic, determined, intelligent, loving, and he has no clue he’s a little dog. He loves attention and will climb in your lap but is definitely not a submissive, subdued little lap dog.
Energy level: HIGH – min pins are often described as ‘busy’ and are noted for being in perpetual motion. They need regular exercise on a daily basis to stay happy and healthy.
Fenced yard required? YES, YES, YES – Per min pin experts “Outdoors, he must be kept on-leash or in a securely fenced area at all times, for he is sharp-eyed, curious, and extremely quick. Unless exceptionally well-trained, Min Pins don't come back when you call them, and often they don't stay where you leave them -- they are artful climbers and clever escape artists.”
Does he/she jump fences? NO – but he could probably climb the fence if he chose to – very agile
Leash walk: YES
Obedience training: Knows ‘sit’ but has a hard time sitting still
Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK
Spayed/neutered: YES
Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES
Microchipped: YES
Social with other dogs: YES
Social with cats: NO CATS
Good with children: He will probably do fine with respectful children 10 or over. Min pins are not noted for being tolerant of young children.
Adoption fee: $75
Titus is an absolutely wonderful, joyful boy. He has been in rescue for a lot of his life because he just hasn’t been found by the right family who can appreciate how wonderful he is. Titus is an exceptionally good miniature pinscher … but he IS a miniature pinscher … and you should know the breed before you adopt one. This little guy is so ready to have a family of his very own who will play with him, love him, include him in family activities. He will do best with an active family with time to spend with him. He is a very social, well-behaved little guy so it is easy to take him wherever you go. He is very loyal and loving and will truly be your best buddy for a lifetime.
**In 2009 Titus tested light positive for heartworm. He has been successfully treated and continues on monthly heartworm preventative.**
If you think Titus might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have 10 or more applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Titus picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
