Jackson was picked up as a stray by Animal Control and did his time in the pound.  He was terrified and still (after several years) is very frightened of many things.  He is a sweet boy, not at all aggressive, but he is extremely fearful and is always in 'flight' mode.  He is not comfortable with attention being 'focused' on him and he will do his best to find a way to hide.

Jackson still hasn't learned to enjoy snuggling and cuddling, and we're sad for him.  There is so much anxiety in his little life, and we're still trying to break the code to help him know all he needs to do is relax and enjoy life with people who love him.  He is more comfortable around low-key, confident dogs than he is around people and we are sure he will do better in a home where he has another dog around to be the 'leader' for him.

We are looking for a very special family for this sweet boy.  We don’t know what traumas he has suffered in his young life, but we do see signs that with time and the love and patience of some special humans, he can learn to feel secure again.

If you think Jackson might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.   Please review our adoption process at http://www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/info/adoption and contact us if you have questions about the process.

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your reference checks are completed and your application is tentatively approved, we will schedule a home visit and a meet-and-greet to see if Jackson picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption contract to be signed and a requested adoption donation.

Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.
