BAXTER (used to be Howie) now has a great new Mom, Diane and a brother Neal and a four-legged buddy named Polo to love him forever!

Here are some very important things you need to know about Howie (aka Butters T Wilson … it’s a long story)

Approximate age/birthdate:  ~2011

Weight/size:  30 lbs

Housebroken:  YES

Crate trained:  YES

Personality: happy, playful, a little stubborn but can be convinced, smart

Energy level:  medium with a few spurts of high

Fenced yard required?:   YES … he was picked up as a stray so we know he wanders

Does he/she jump fences?  NO

Leash walk:  YES

Obedience training:  Knows ‘sit’

Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK     

Spayed/neutered:   YES

Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES

Microchipped:   YES

Social with other dogs:  YES … he doesn’t have the best social skills so his attempts to play are a little rough sometimes but he takes correction well

Social with cats:  Barks at the cats and would probably be willing to chase them

Good with children: Has not been around children in foster care but seems like he would be fine with older, respectful children

Adoption donation:  $175

Howie has the most gorgeous curly coat and the happiest little cocker face.  He is a bit of a clown and pretty good little boy.  He is a golden, buttery color (thus the name Butters) and one little patch of black hair on his side.  He’s a boy boy … looked like he’d been rolling in pine tar when he first came, but a trip to Canine Cuts took care of that!  Typical cocker, he loves to be where people are!  He does OK with other dogs, but he really prefers people!

We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.

When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Howie picks you too.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
