Social with other dogs:  She is selective about her doggy friends.  She either likes them or she doesn’t.  She will bark at dogs she doesn’t like, but we have not seen her be aggressive.
 
Social with cats:  Will bark at the cats and would chase them if they ran from her.  This breed has a high natural prey drive.

Good with children:  She would probably be fine with children 10 or over, but not tolerant with younger children.

Nellee is a little mystery.  She was in an area animal control facility so we don’t have a lot of background information on her.  When she first came to AAMR she was very wary of everything.  She jumped back if you tried to pet her head or rub her ears.  If you tried to kiss her head she would jump and look at you with fear.  She did, however, want to get into your lap.  She will let you pick her up, but you need to approach her slowly and talk softly to her or she becomes very fearful.  An enigma … she wants love, but she’s afraid to have anyone reach out for her.  We see her trust improving every day, and we know all she will need is a family with a lot of love and patience.  She will also need a strong person to be the leader/be in charge and to be consistent in her training.  She is very smart, and we think she would be a great agility dog once she fully trusted her new partner.

Cute as a button, we're not sure of her breed mix ... possibly miniature pinscher and dachshund.  Whatever the mix is, this sweet girl is just amazing!  She is beautiful and smart and she wants to be a cuddle bug.  All she needs now is a family that is just as wonderful as she is.

If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
