Tickle was surrendered by an owner at an area Animal Control facility … and yet his happiness was evident to everyone who met him. The only thing we really know about him is that he was originally purchased from a pet store in Roanoke. He seems to be a ‘go-with-the-flow’ kind of guy. He is a bundle of wiggles and kisses. He wants to snuggle, but he can’t stay still long enough. He is always happy and he gets along with most of his foster friends. He will try to ‘bully’ smaller male dogs but has not been aggressive.
Tickle will make a great addition to a true doxie-loving household. He would love to be an ‘only child’ but he will do fine with the right doggy companion. We would suggest a female (spayed of course) that is his size or larger. He is very energetic (as most doxies are) and he might be overwhelming for a tiny dog … or young children.
If you think Tickle might be the perfect pup for you, please go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org, click on Forms/Application and complete your adoption application online.
We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process. We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
When your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if Tickle picks you too.
If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed.
